Mastering, rights and delivery

Mastering is the last technical stop before Spotify, vinyl or broadcast. Legally, composition, performance and recording stay separate layers — here is what we deliver and what you arrange yourself.

Artist and engineer listen together and discuss delivery.

What mastering includes

Mastering at Nazeriniedgevi is final polish on calibrated monitors: sequencing, EQ, dynamics and loudness for the target medium. Rates: €98 per song, €335 for four tracks, €590 up to twelve songs on one album.

Send stereo mixes with headroom (typically peaks below about −3 dBFS true peak before processing). We deliver master WAV and, if agreed, DDPI for CD or vinyl-specific sides. 2 revision rounds included; further work at hourly rates on services.

Technical delivery

Default: 24-bit WAV at project sample rate (44.1 kHz CD legacy, 48 kHz common for video). Streaming masters target platform normalisation without post-encoder clipping. Vinyl masters need extra HF/LF care — flag at booking.

Metadata (ISRC, title, artist) is not embedded automatically; distributors ask separately. Keep master files with mix bounces; we host projects 6 months — download in time. Format background: mix delivery formats.

Recording right vs composition

Three layers matter for music release in the Netherlands:

Composition (copyright)
Belongs to writers; collective management often via BUMA/Stemra.
Performance (neighbouring rights)
Performers; remuneration via Sena for radio and public use.
Phonogram (master)
Belongs to whoever finances or organises the recording — often artist or label, not the studio by default.

Nazeriniedgevi B.V. supplies services; unless your terms or project agreement says otherwise, paying for mastering does not automatically transfer master ownership to you — but the delivered WAV is meant for your release within the agreed scope.

What we claim and do not claim

Studio session files remain our working material. The master WAV you receive is for your release channel under the job brief. We do not use your music in marketing without written permission.

Portfolio credit is optional; some artists want silence until release date — state that upfront. Advertising or film sync needs composition and master licences separately; mastering is not clearance research.

Remote collabs? Nominate one party to own the master version; we label exports clearly (v4_master_Nazeriniedgevi.wav) so nobody uploads an older bounce to a distributor by mistake.

Session musicians

Extra players recorded in our live room need written consent to fix and exploit their performance — standard NL side letters or band agreements, separate from our invoice.

Covers need arrangement with right holders via BUMA/Stemra or direct licence before commercial release. We do not give legal advice; for campaigns, consult an entertainment lawyer.

Podcast or spoken-word projects follow different clearance rules than music; for Podcast recording we agree usage in the quote so mastering and distribution stay aligned.

Payment, VAT and business clients

Site prices include 21% VAT for consumers. B2B invoices with valid VAT IDs follow rules on legal notice. Payment due within 14 days unless the quote says otherwise.

40% deposit on longer projects; cancel free up to 7 days ahead. Billing questions: [email protected] or contact form.

Need a split invoice between band members? We invoice Nazeriniedgevi B.V. once; how you settle internally stays with you, but the master files release after agreed payment.

Steps toward release

  1. Approve mix export per mix formats.
  2. Master brief: medium (stream/vinyl/broadcast), references, explicit no-go’s.
  3. Use 2 revision rounds; download final WAV and back up locally.
  4. Assign ISRCs per track via distributor or label.
  5. Register works/performances with relevant societies where applicable.

Complete the chain with Mixing and earlier vocal prep. General information only — see disclaimer.
