Solo, duo or small panel

Most teams arrive as a pair; sometimes a guest joins at the table on a separate mic. Our treated room (~12 m²) suits dialogue, not a full band — use band recording in the live room for that. Solo sessions work when one host records and a remote guest may be added later in edit.

Panels above three people need extra mics and seating; treat 6 participants as a practical comfort limit. Guests from age 16 are welcome with parental consent under our terms and conditions.

Quiet and intelligible

Home setups often fight room echo, computer fans and neighbours. Here HVAC runs quietly, panels tame reflections and each voice has its own track so editing stays straightforward. We draw from our 24 studio mics; choice depends on timbre and whether you speak close or slightly off-axis.

We limit headphone bleed with closed cups and a mix where you hear yourself clearly without shouting. If you bring intro music or stingers, play them from a separate source so we can meter levels before dialogue starts.

How session day runs

Allow fifteen minutes before the clock starts for setup. You arrive at Van Ostadestraat 184; From De Pijp metro (North/South line) it is about a seven-minute walk via Ferdinand Bolstraat. Tram 12 stops at Ceintuurbaan, five minutes on foot to Van Ostadestraat. On-street parking is limited; use P+R at Zuid or Arena if you drive.. Lars de Vries welcomes you during Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00, closed Sunday.; Daan Vermeer or Mira Jacobs runs the session. Bring water and scripts; phones on silent or airplane mode in the room.

Between takes we note where a restart happened. If you want a break mid-episode, say so — we mark it in the session. Video with camera is sometimes possible if it does not add noise; agree that upfront via contact.

Editing, loudness and delivery

The hourly rate covers recording and immediate export of raw takes. The per-episode rate (up to ninety minutes raw) includes basic editing: trimming silences, one focused listen-through and a mixed podcast bounce without heavy music production. Aggressive noise reduction or long ums-and-ahs passes sit outside standard unless you book the day pack or extra hours.

We usually deliver 24-bit/48 kHz WAV per track plus an mp3 or WAV mix for your host. Speech loudness is aligned to your platform (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, internal intranet). Data handling is described in our privacy policy; adjust site cookies via cookie preferences.

Rates and which to pick

All listed amounts include 21% VAT. Consumers often pay a 40% deposit when booking; companies may receive 14-day invoice terms after delivery. Cancellation is free up to 7 days before start.

What to bring

Script or outline, participant names for file labels, intro/outro music in lossless format if used, and a laptop with your monitoring app if you want a local backup. Avoid jangly jewellery or fabrics that rub on mics.

Voice-over within an episode can sometimes pair with vocal recording in the booth on another day; plan ahead so scheduling lines up. Studio etiquette and parking notes live in FAQ.

Not included

Full post with sound design, composing music, transcription, video edit or publishing to podcast platforms sits outside standard podcast rates. Mixing music beds or mastering a jingle release are separate services.

We work by appointment Mon–Fri 10–20, Sat 11–18; walk-ins without a booking rarely fit. Use contact and note preferred language (Dutch or English); both are common in the studio.
