Band recording

You play together in our live room while we capture drums, guitars and bass — space for up to 6 musicians and an engineer keeping the session organised.

Band records live in a large room with engineer present.

Tracking live delivers energy that is hard to fake later. Since 2019 we have used the main room at Van Ostadestraat 184 for indie, rock, funk and jazz-leaning bands who want to play tight instead of stacking part by part.

Drums sit on a riser with isolation to the rest when the arrangement needs it; vocals can follow in the booth via Vocal recording. Mix and master are planned separately — see Mixing and Mastering — so tracking and post do not blur together.

Process

  1. Briefing

Send a set list, tempos and a rough demo via contact. We agree who plays live and which parts need isolation.

  2. Line check

Microphones from our stock of 24, DIs, headphones for click when needed. The first hour is often setup and soundcheck.

  3. Takes

Full passes, then overdubs the same day if time allows. We mark takes in the session so comping stays fast later.

  4. Multitrack

Export of all tracks as WAV or session files. Backup for 6 months; you get a download or copy on your drive.

The live room

Our main space is about 38 m² with a wooden floor and wall diffusion — enough for a drum kit, two guitars, bass and live vocals within 6 people at once. Nazeriniedgevi has 3 rooms in total; drums can sit in a separated zone while the rest plays in the room.

Isolation suits rock and pop without turning the room into a dead box: we keep air in the recording. If you want a huge drum sound, talk about overdubs or a different mic plan before the session.

Drums and rhythm section

The kit sits on a platform with floor mats; we mic kick, snare, overheads and toms separately plus room mics when the song benefits. Bass can take DI plus amp mic; guitarists choose direct DI, an iso cab or a small amp at low volume.

Click goes to the drummer on headphones; other players can get a mix without click if you prefer feel over grid. Note tempo changes upfront — it saves digging in Pro Tools or Logic later.

Engineer and workflow

Every band hour at Nazeriniedgevi includes the engineer: Nazeriniedgevi B.V. works with staff such as Mira Jacobs (recording and mix). They route signals, write session notes and keep disk space free — no surprises mid take.

We do not roll while someone is still tweaking an amp; soundcheck is part of the booked block. Want producer-style input? Say so upfront and we schedule listening time after the takes.

Which bands fit

Four-piece rock, funk groups staying within six people, jazz combos with upright bass and drums — if you can play like the stage is small, it fits here. Electronic acts that only need live drums and guitars are welcome; full laptop shows belong elsewhere.

Minimum age 16 for members without a guardian. Minors attend with parent or guardian approval and an adult in the studio.

Prep and budget

Rehearse until tempo and dynamics hold. Tune guitars and drums shortly before arrival; fresh strings sound great but cost time. Our band budget and studio hours guide helps estimate hours for an EP versus a single.

The day rate (8 hours) is €895 incl. VAT — often better than eight hours at €125. When unsure, book a half day first and review after the opening takes.

Delivery

You receive multitrack WAVs per instrument, numbered in our session map, plus a stereo rough mix for home review. Need the native session? We copy it to your drive after the day.

Mixing is not included; stems are meant for mixing here or elsewhere. Read mix delivery formats if you send to an outside engineer. Mastering follows via Mastering once the mix is done.

FAQ

nzrn

Often yes for rhythm; vocals can be live or later in the booth. We decide per song what leakage allows.

nzrn

Bass amp, some combos and a drum kit are on site. Guitar amps and specialty snares are yours unless agreed otherwise.

nzrn

Roughly one to two tracking days plus overdubs, depending on tightness. Our budget guide helps refine that.

nzrn

Staying sober for takes works better. A beer on break is fine; respect neighbours and volume in De Pijp.

nzrn

You do, per the terms. We deliver files; splits between members are yours to arrange.
